Costa Mesa Donald Dungan Library Bookstore

Behind this door is a very small bookstore, but it has its special charms. Like the larger Mesa Verde bookstore, it is fully operated by volunteers and proceeds from our sales directly benefit library programs and projects.

Passport photos are also available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to accompany the Passport Acceptance Service available at the same time at this library. This makes it a “one-stop-shop” in getting your passport.

Store hours:
Monday	10:00am to 7:00pm
Tuesday	11:00 to 2:00 3:00pm to 7:00pm
Wednesday	3:00pm to 7:00pm
Thursday	10:00am to 12:00am 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Saturday	10:00am to 2:00pm

Books on two carts inside the library entrance are available for purchase all hours library is open.

Prices: Most items are $1.00 or less.

Types of materials: Hardcover books, trade paperbacks, audiobooks, videos, CDs, DVDs, children’s books, pocket paperbacks, and more.

Arrangement: Fiction is arranged in alphabetical order by author’s last name. Non-Fiction is arranged by subject.

We want to expand our operating hours and therefore are looking for more volunteers who are able to give several hours each week.

Donation Guidelines

Bring items to be donated to the Costa Mesa Donald Dungan Library (1855 Park Avenue, Costa Mesa) during hours the library is open, preferably when the bookstore is also open.

Because of limited storage, please consult library staff or Friends store volunteers before bringing a large donation.

Donations are tax-deductible. Ask for a receipt when you donate items.

Please only donate gently used, clean books, tapes, CDs, DVDs - we cannot accept moldy, mildewed or damaged items or items missing parts.

We cannot accept magazines, condensed books, encyclopedias, computer books more than 3 years old, or textbooks.

The library may elect to add donated books to their collection. Typically, only new, recently published books are added. Sometimes an older book in good condition may be added to replace a damaged item.

Book Sale Schedule for 2010

Six book sales are scheduled for 2010, sometimes on the patio, sometimes in the Community Room of the library. Often there will be special prices. The dates are:

February 27, April 24, June 26, August 28, October 30 and December 4.
