Friends of the Library Bookstore at Mesa Verde Library

Our “Friends of the Costa Mesa Libraries” book store, at the Mesa Verde location now has been open for over a year. The book store is operated by approximately 30 diligent volunteers not only selling books, but other items of interest such as videos, CD’s, books on tapes and gift certificates. The store also offers membership and volunteer opportunities, prizes, special discounts, silent auctions, deals, and much-much more. What a wonderful way to beat inflation!
The extensive inventory include books for children, adults, computer help books, technical and text books, history, mystery and romance, antiques, books on rare collectible items, photography, travel, sports, cooking, art, fiction and non-fiction, poetry, and much more. Glass cases display holiday, seasonal and special event books. All items have been donated by our generous community residents.
Sales proceeds provides financial support for our Costa Mesa Libraries. Recently, for example, the Friends donated over $12,000.00 for much needed chairs for the Costa Mesa/Donald Dungan library.

The store is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. It is located at 2969 Mesa Verde Drive East, behind the library.

PASSPORT - Volunteers Wanted
Passport Information Receptionist:
Training for this job will be given by the librarians at the CM/Donald Dungan Library.
Hours are: (all in 2-hour shifts)
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
2:45pm to 6:45pm,
Saturday
10:00AM to 2:00PM
Passport Photo Photographers:
One of the most fun volunteer opportunities we have is taking photographs of people who are applying for passports.
We have a digital camera that takes beautiful pictures and is very easy to use. We provide training and handholding as necessary. Our photographers get to talk to people about the fascinating places they intend to visit.
Currently available in two-hour shifts:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
3:00PM to 7:00PM
Saturday
10:00am — 2pm
